Blued-steel fish tape with formed hook pulls wire through 120 ft runs, laser-etched every 12 inches for quick length checks
The Ideal 31-056 is a flat steel fish tape measuring 120 ft with a 1/8 in width. Its formed hook end and 1,600 lb tensile strength suit electricians pulling wire through long conduit runs. The rotating Tuff-Grip Pro case stores the tape neatly.
The tape's high column strength resists buckling during extended pushes through multiple bends, maintaining rigidity where thinner tapes would fold. Laser-etched 12-in increments let the user gauge conduit length continuously without interrupting the pull to measure.
The 12 in diameter plastic case rotates freely, paying out tape smoothly and reducing kinks that jam the run. The non-oily finish keeps hands and conductors clean, while the blue case is easy to spot on a crowded job site.

No, the tape is a passive steel tool with no motor or electronics, so it produces no heat or noise during use.
The tape is designed for runs that accept a 1/8 in flat steel profile and handles wire from 24 AWG up to 10 AWG.
The non-oily, rust-resistant finish and laser-etched increments are built to resist wear from abrasive conduit surfaces.
