22-inch shear-cut cable cutter designed for electrical cable applications
The Ideal 35-032 is a 22" shear-cut cable cutter designed for electrical cable applications. Its length provides leverage for clean cuts through copper and aluminium conductors. Electricians and maintenance technicians will find it suited to standard wiring tasks. The tool is supplied new and ready for immediate use.
As a hand-operated tool it generates no heat, draws no power and produces only the sound of the cutting action. There are no motors, fans or batteries to manage. This makes it suitable for confined spaces or noise-sensitive environments. The shear-cut design reduces deformation of the conductor during use.
The shear-cut mechanism slices through cable rather than crushing it, preserving conductor geometry for reliable terminations. No accessories or software are included with the tool. California Proposition 65 warnings advise that the product contains chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Users should follow appropriate safety practices.

Open the jaws fully, position the cable at the shear-cut pivot point, then close the handles smoothly until the blades meet; the step users miss is keeping the cut perpendicular so the shear action severs cleanly without crushing the conductor.
Wipe the blades after each use, apply a light machine oil to the pivot, and sharpen or replace the cutting edges when they no longer slice copper cleanly; the Proposition 65 notice means you should also wash hands after handling.
Hand fatigue from the required grip force typically stops the operator before the shear-cut mechanism reaches any mechanical limit.
