Four-computer dual-monitor KVM

This DisplayPort KVM switch lets four desktops or laptops share one keyboard, one mouse and two monitors. It supports extended, mirrored or spliced desktop layouts up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz. The unit includes three USB 3.0 ports for peripherals and separate audio and microphone jacks. A wired remote and front push buttons provide instant source selection.

Passive cooling silent operation

The switch draws power from the supplied external adapter and has no internal fans, so it adds no audible noise to the workspace. LED indicators show the active port without generating heat that requires active cooling. Typical power consumption stays low because the device only routes signals and manages USB enumeration. No thermal throttling or fan curves are involved.

Desktop-ready connectivity kit

Four DisplayPort and USB 3.0 cable sets are included, along with the power adapter, wired controller and manual. Each computer needs a DisplayPort output and a USB port; the switch handles the rest without driver installation. The rear-facing ports keep cables tidy and free up desk space. Compatibility spans Windows 11 down to 2000, Linux, UNIX, Ubuntu and Fedora.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the four computers and two monitors to the 402DP, and which step do people miss?

Plug the power adapter in first, then connect both DisplayPort cables from the KVM to the monitors, then run one DisplayPort and one USB 3.0 cable from each computer to the KVM; the step most often missed is powering the unit before attaching the video cables.

What maintenance or replacement will the 402DP need over time?

The only wear items are the three USB 3.0 ports and the push-button or wired controller; if a port becomes loose or a button fails, replace the affected cable or the remote rather than the whole switch.

What limit appears first when I run both monitors at 8K 60 Hz on all four PCs continuously?

The DisplayPort 1.4 link bandwidth caps sustained dual 8K 60 Hz throughput, so the video path will hit its ceiling before the USB 3.0 or audio channels do.
