PCIe Wi-Fi adapter with Bluetooth 4.0

The IHDAPP AR5B22 is a PCI Express wireless adapter that adds dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 to a desktop PC. It delivers up to 300 Mbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands using a Marvell 88W8897 2x2 MIMO solution. The card suits users who want cable-free networking and peripheral connectivity on a Windows system.

Check slot and OS before ordering

Your motherboard needs a free PCI Express x1 or x16 slot and the included Bluetooth data cable must reach an internal USB header. The driver package supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10; it is not compatible with macOS or iMac hardware. Verify that your chassis has space for the two external antennas and the low-profile bracket.

Fits a standard desktop build

The half-height card installs in any PCIe slot and ships with two detachable 5 dBi omni-directional antennas that screw onto the rear bracket. A supplied screw secures the card and the Bluetooth cable connects to a motherboard header, freeing front-panel ports for other devices. The Killer N1202 driver option is available for supported platforms.

Questions about this item

Does the AR5B22 box include the antennas and Bluetooth cable, or must they be bought separately?

The package contains the AR5B22 wireless card, two dual-band antennas, one Bluetooth data cable and one mounting screw, so no extra parts are required for installation.

Which AR5B22 version should I choose for a desktop PC with a free PCI Express x1 or x16 slot running Windows 10?

This single model fits any desktop with a PCI Express x1 or x16 slot and supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 on both AMD and Intel platforms; there are no alternative capacities or versions to select.

What does the 300 Mbps rating mean for real-world throughput on my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks?

The 300 Mbps figure is the maximum PHY rate under IEEE 802.11n with 2x2 MIMO; actual throughput will be lower due to overhead, interference and client capabilities.
