What it does
This HDMI matrix switch connects four HDMI sources to two displays and lets you route each source independently to either screen. It is built for installers and home-theatre owners who need to share multiple players, consoles or PCs across two televisions or projectors without re-cabling.
Bandwidth and format limits
The unit passes video up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz with 18.5 Gbps throughput and a TMDS clock of 600 MHz. It supports deep-colour bit depths of 8, 10, 12, 24, 32 and 48 bit, HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0b, but it cannot down-convert HDR content for non-HDR 1080p displays.
Audio extraction capability
Any input can be stripped to optical Toslink or 3.5 mm stereo outputs carrying LPCM, Dolby or DTS 5.1 soundtracks. If your installation requires multichannel audio to a separate sound system while video goes to the screens, this feature decides whether the matrix fits.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 4x2 matrix or a simpler 4x1 switch?
The 4x2 matrix lets you send four sources to two displays independently, so each screen can show a different input at the same time.
What does 4K at 60 Hz actually deliver on my TV?
You get full 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR and 4:4:4 colour, provided your source and cables support the 18.5 Gbps rate.
How do the HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 specs limit what I can play?
They cap the link at 18.5 Gbps and 600 MHz TMDS clock, so 4K 60 Hz HDR works but higher refresh rates or 8K signals will not pass.
