Bi-directional USB 3.0 switch shares one peripheral between two computers or two devices on one computer at up to 5Gbps with push-button selection and LED indicators
This IHDAPP switch lets you share one USB peripheral between two computers or toggle between two peripherals on a single computer. It supports Windows, Mac and Linux without any driver installation. A simple push button selects the active connection and an LED shows which side is live. The aluminium body measures 2.08 x 2.13 x .59 inches and needs no external power supply.
Data moves at up to 5Gbps over USB 3.0 and the switch remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Only one computer or one peripheral is active at a time; simultaneous A plus B operation is not supported. No USB 3.0 cables are included in the package, so you must provide your own. The unit draws power from the host ports and requires no separate adapter.
Choose this switch when you need either 1-in-2-out or 2-in-1-out sharing but not both at once. If your workflow demands concurrent access to a device from two hosts, this product will not meet that need.

The switch works both ways — connect one USB device to the two upstream ports to share it between two PCs, or connect two USB devices to the single downstream port to toggle them on one PC.
The 5 Gbps is the USB 3.0 signalling ceiling; real-world throughput will be lower and depends on the drive, cable quality and the host controller in each computer.
It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so keyboards, mice, printers and slower drives all work; the port simply negotiates the highest speed both ends support.
