Stable Step Stool for Children and Adults

The IKEA BOLMEN step stool in white supports both children and adults with a tested maximum load of 220 lbs. Its stable construction lets youngsters reach the sink or counter safely while giving grown-ups secure access to high shelves. Anti-slip surfaces on the top and bottom reduce the risk of sliding during use. The lightweight design makes it easy to move between rooms as needed.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

This step stool has no electrical components, so it produces no heat, noise or power consumption in normal use. The white finish stays cool to the touch regardless of ambient temperature. There are no fans, motors or batteries to maintain. It simply sits ready whenever a stable boost is required.

Behaviour Under Sustained Load

The stool maintains its structural integrity and anti-slip grip even when the full 220 lb capacity is applied continuously. No flex or degradation occurs during prolonged standing by an adult. The bottom pads keep the unit firmly planted on tile, wood or laminate floors without creeping. It remains a reliable, maintenance-free aid for everyday tasks.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the BOLMEN step stool so it does not slide on a tiled floor?

Place the stool on a clean, dry surface; the integrated anti-slip pads on the bottom grip tile automatically with no extra parts needed.

What part of the BOLMEN stool wears out first and needs replacing?

The anti-slip surfaces on the top and bottom are the only wear items; if they lose grip, the whole stool is replaced as no spare pads are sold.

At what load does the BOLMEN stool reach its tested limit during daily use?

The stool is tested and approved for a maximum weight capacity of 220 lbs, so sustained loads above that exceed its verified safety margin.
