Ilford Multigrade V RC Deluxe Satin Photo Paper
This variable-contrast black-and-white photo paper is designed for darkroom printing from grades 00 to 5. It suits beginners learning the craft and experienced printers who need full tonal control. The resin-coated base provides a neutral tint with a satin finish. Each pack contains 100 sheets.
Medium weight resin coated base and tonal range
The 190gsm resin coated construction offers a neutral base tint that renders deep blacks across the contrast range. Excellent toning properties give printers a reliable starting point for creative toning techniques. Improved mid-grade spacing and a smoother sensometric curve ensure uniform contrast throughout the tonal scale. This fifth generation paper delivers a slightly warmer base tint than its predecessor.
Consistent performance during extended printing
The emulsion technology maintains stable contrast grades during prolonged darkroom use without the shifts that can affect shorter-run papers. Uniform sensometric response means each sheet behaves predictably from the first print to the last in a batch. Printers relying on repeatable results for exhibition or portfolio work will find the coating dependable. It is not suited for colour printing processes or inkjet output.

Questions about this item
How do I load the 8x10 sheets into my darkroom enlarger easel without fogging the emulsion?
Work under a correct safelight, handle sheets by the edges only, and place the satin side up in the easel; the resin-coated base lies flat quickly so you can expose immediately.
Will the 190gsm resin-coated base curl or crack after processing and drying?
The RC base is designed to dry flat with minimal curl; store finished prints in archival sleeves at stable humidity to prevent long-term cracking.
At which contrast grade do the deepest blacks appear when I push exposure time?
Grade 5 delivers the maximum density and deepest blacks; the smoother sensometric curve keeps mid-tones separated even at high contrast.
