Sharp Fine-Grain B&W Negative Film
Ilford XP2 Super is a panchromatic chromogenic black-and-white negative film rated at ISO 400. It uses an acetate base and comes as a single 100-foot bulk roll for 35mm cameras. The film is designed for photographers who want traditional B&W aesthetics with the convenience of standard colour chemistry.
Wide Latitude for Consistent Highlights and Shadows
The chromogenic structure gives an extremely wide exposure latitude so highlights and shadows retain detail even when metering is imperfect. Grain remains fine across a broad range of exposures and the manufacturer notes the best balance of sharpness and grain at EI 400/27. This behaviour helps maintain predictable results during long shooting sessions under changing light.
C-41 Processing Simplifies Lab Workflow
Because the film develops in standard C-41 chemistry it can be processed alongside colour negative rolls at any minilab or home tank without special B&W developers. Negatives print on conventional black-and-white paper using normal enlarger filtration. The acetate base and 125.0-microm thickness provide reliable handling for bulk loading and long-term storage.
