The InfiRay T3S is a compact thermal camera that plugs into an Android device running version 6.0 or higher. It turns a compatible smartphone into a handheld infrared viewer for electrical, mechanical and building diagnostics. Technicians and hobbyists can use it to spot overheating components, trace pipe runs or check insulation without carrying a dedicated instrument.

384 by 288 sensor resolution and detection limits

The 384 x 288 pixel detector delivers enough detail to identify hot spots on circuit boards, locate under-floor heating pipes and monitor motor bearings at close range. Fine temperature gradients on small SMD components may fall below the sensor’s spatial resolution, so very small defects can be missed. The device is intended for qualitative inspection rather than laboratory-grade radiometry.

Passive cooling and USB power draw

The unit has no internal fan and relies on its metal housing to dissipate heat during normal operation. It draws power directly from the host phone, so battery life of the Android device becomes the limiting factor for extended surveys. Silent running makes it suitable for noise-sensitive environments such as offices or occupied homes.
