What the InFocus IN122a delivers

The InFocus IN122a is a DLP business projector built for meeting rooms and classrooms that need a bright image under normal lighting. Its 3500 lumen output keeps presentations readable without dimming the lights. The native 800 x 600 resolution suits standard office documents and legacy video sources. This unit ships new and professionally tested.

Practical limits of the SVGA native panel

The 800 x 600 pixel grid means fine text and detailed spreadsheets will not render sharply at large screen sizes. The projector accepts a 1080p signal but downscales it to the native grid, so high-definition video loses detail. Brightness ranges from 3000 to 3500 lumens depending on lamp mode, and the 15000:1 contrast ratio helps black levels in darkened rooms only.

The single spec that decides fit

Native resolution of 800 x 600 is the deciding factor: if your content requires more pixels — such as modern widescreen slides, detailed CAD drawings or full HD video without scaling — this projector will not meet the need. Buyers who need a sharper image for text-heavy work should look elsewhere. The 7.0 lb weight makes it portable for occasional moves.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 3000 or 3500 lumen setting for the IN122a?

The IN122a delivers up to 3500 lumens; 3000 lumens is the lower end of the same range, so use the higher figure for brighter rooms.

What does 3500 lumens look like on an 800x600 DLP projector?

3500 lumens gives a bright image on the 800x600 native grid, suitable for lit meeting rooms, though detail is limited to that resolution.

How does the HDMI port handle a 1080p signal on this 800x600 unit?

The HDMI input accepts a 1080p source and the projector downscales it to the native 800x600 panel.
