Separates oil and water from compressed air at 175 cfm with a 1/2 in NPT inlet
The Ingersoll-Rand PSG-15 removes oil and water from compressed air lines with a maximum flow rate of 175 cfm. It suits workshops running compressors up to 40 hp that need clean, dry air for pneumatic tools and spray equipment. The unit handles condensate through a 1/2 in NPT inlet and uses a disposable, refillable absorption module with a 5 gal volume.
The separator operates passively with no moving parts, so it adds no noise and draws no electrical power in normal use. Maximum and minimum operating temperatures are both listed as 90 Degrees F, indicating a single rated temperature point for the absorption media. Overall dimensions are 30 in height, 26 1/2 in width and 19 in depth for placement planning.
A compressed-air system must not exceed 175 cfm at the separator inlet, or oil and water carry-over will occur. Buyers whose compressor delivers higher flow need a larger-capacity separator. The 1/2 in NPT air inlet and 3/4 in NPT oil and water outlets fix the pipework size, so adapters are required for different thread diameters.

Thread the 1/2 in NPT air inlet into the compressor discharge line using pipe sealant; the step often missed is installing a shut-off valve upstream so the separator can be isolated for module changes without depressurising the whole system.
The disposable refillable 5 gal absorption module must be replaced once it becomes saturated with oil; saturation timing depends on compressor run hours and oil carry-over, so inspect the module monthly and swap it when the outlet water shows a sheen.
The maximum operating temperature of 90 Degrees F is the first limit reached under sustained 175 cfm flow; if inlet air exceeds this temperature the separator’s efficiency drops and the module life shortens rapidly.
