This Innocard adapter connects an M.2 M-key slot to a MiniSAS-HD SFF-8673 4X interface using a built-in PCIe ReDriver. It supports PCI Express 4.0 at 16 GT/s across a x4 link. A 100 MHz clock buffer and SMBus repeater with voltage-level translation extend signal reach for longer cables. Hot-plug support is included via PERST# and PWRDIS translators tied to the SFF-8673 connector.

Suited for server and HPC integration

The card fits rack, microserver and tower platforms needing to bridge M.2 storage or accelerators to MiniSAS-HD backplanes. It operates under Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and UEFI 2.3.1 or later. Builders without an M.2 M-key slot or a MiniSAS-HD SFF-8673 4X port cannot use this changer. Systems limited to PCIe 3.0 will not gain Gen4 speeds from the adapter alone.

PCIe Gen4 x4 with ReDriver and clock buffer

The integrated ReDriver restores 16 GT/s differential signals while the clock buffer drives extended trace lengths. Voltage-level translators handle PERST#, WAKE#, CLKREQ# and PWRDIS across the SFF-8673 B1, C1, B2 and C2 pins. The SFF-8673 connector uses 30 µin gold mating-area plating. Compliance covers PCIe Base 4.0, CEM 4.0, M.2 4.0, SFF-8613 3.5.4_C and SFF-9402 1.1 specifications.
