Dell Latitude 7480 refurbished laptop

This Dell Latitude 7480 is a refurbished 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It uses a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor at 2.6 GHz with 4 MB L3 cache. The system includes 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display.

Sustained workload behaviour

The dual-core CPU and integrated graphics share a thin 0.67 inch chassis, so thermals limit prolonged heavy tasks. Expect clock speeds to throttle during long compiles or video exports. The 8 GB memory ceiling prevents large datasets from staying resident, increasing swap activity. Fan noise rises noticeably under continuous load.

Installation and common issues

The unit arrives with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed, so initial setup follows the standard out-of-box experience. Memory is not user-upgradable beyond the 8 GB factory limit. The non-backlit keyboard may disappoint in low light. Refurbished stock varies cosmetically; check the screen for pressure marks and the chassis for dents before deploying.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Latitude 7480 get when the i7-6600U runs at 2.6 GHz all day?

The dual-core i7-6600U is a low-power processor; the 14.0 inch chassis with its 0.67 inch profile relies on a single fan that stays quiet during typical office workloads and only spins up noticeably during sustained heavy tasks.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the three USB ports on this 7480?

The three USB ports are standard Type-A connectors, so any existing USB-A flash drives, mice, keyboards or external hard drives will plug in directly without adapters.

Will the Intel HD Graphics in this 7480 drive my older 1920 x 1080 monitor over HDMI or VGA?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics supports external displays up to 1920 x 1080; the laptop provides an HDMI port and a VGA port, so older monitors with either input can be connected without extra converters.
