M.2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card

This Intel 7265NGW adapter adds dual-band Wireless-AC and Bluetooth 4.2 to a laptop or small-form-factor PC through an M.2 slot. It delivers a data rate of 867Mb/s on the 802.11ac standard. The card uses a PCI-Express interface and carries part number 860883-001.

Upgrade for compatible laptops only

It suits owners of supported notebooks who need to replace a failed module or add wireless capability where the slot is wired for this interface. Buyers whose systems require a different keying, antenna count, or form factor should look at another solution.

M.2 form factor with PCI-Express interface

The physical M.2 connector and PCI-Express signalling are the single specification that decides whether this card fits and functions in a given machine. Verify the original part number against the compatible list before ordering.

Questions about this item

What sustained throughput can the 867 Mb/s link maintain under continuous load?

The adapter is rated for a maximum 867 Mb/s data rate on the 802.11ac band; sustained throughput will be lower and depends on router capability, channel width and interference.

How much heat or fan noise does the M.2 7265NGW generate during all-day operation?

The card has no active cooling and draws minimal power from the PCI-Express slot, so it runs silently with negligible heat rise in a typical laptop chassis.

Which antenna cables must already be present in the laptop for this M.2 card to function?

Two U.FL antenna pigtails are required — one for the dual-band Wi-Fi radios and one for the Bluetooth 4.2 module — and must be connected to the card's IPEX connectors.
