2U PCIe 2.0 x4 and 3.0 x8 Riser Card

This Intel A2UX8X4RISER is a 2U form-factor expansion card that adds one PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot and one PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot to compatible Intel server systems. It is designed for administrators who need extra I/O capacity inside a 2U chassis.

Suits listed Intel servers; not for other platforms

The card is validated for Intel Server Systems R2208WT2YS, R2208WTTYC1, R2208WTTYS, R2224WTTYS, R2308WTTYS, R2312WTTYS and Intel Server Chassis R2312WTXXX and R2000WTXXX. Buyers with different server brands or chassis form factors cannot use this riser.

Dual-slot layout: one x4 and one x8 connector

The decisive specification is the pair of expansion slots: a single PCIe 2.0 x4 connection and a single PCIe 3.0 x8 connection. That lane allocation determines which add-in cards can be installed and at what bandwidth.

Questions about this item

Will the PCIe 2.0 x4 slot on this riser work with an older PCIe 2.0 x1 card I want to keep?

Yes, the PCIe 2.0 x4 slot accepts x1 cards and runs them at x1 speed.

How can I confirm the PCIe 3.0 x8 slot is running at full width after installation?

Check the server BIOS or OS device manager; it should report the link as PCIe 3.0 x8.

Does the box include mounting screws for a 2U chassis or must I buy them separately?

The riser is a bare board; mounting hardware comes with the compatible Intel 2U server chassis.
