Cable kit for 2U SAS systems

This Intel cable kit provides two straight SFF-8643 to SFF-8087 cables for internal server connections. It is designed for WT 2U systems equipped with a 6G SAS ROC module or 6G SAS RAID cards. The kit supports configurations using HBA modules such as the 1208, 1304, 2216, 2224 and 2312. Installers needing a direct link between backplanes and controllers will use this kit.

Length and connector headroom

Each cable measures 875 mm, offering reach across a 2U chassis from backplane to add-in card. The straight SFF-8643 and SFF-8087 ends fit standard SAS ports without angled clearance issues. Two cables are included, covering dual-port controllers or redundant paths. Builds requiring longer runs or right-angle connectors cannot use this kit.

Thermals noise and power

Passive copper cables add no active heat, noise or power draw to the system. They rely on the chassis airflow for any thermal dissipation. No external power source or fan is required for operation. Cable routing should avoid blocking intake fans to maintain overall cooling efficiency.
