Quad-port gigabit Ethernet adapter with PCIe 2.0 interface and four LC connectors for server networking
The Intel I340-F4 adds four 1000Mbps Ethernet connections through a single PCIe slot. It is built for servers and workstations that need multiple wired network links without occupying extra expansion slots.
The card uses a PCI Express 2.0 interface, so total throughput cannot exceed the bandwidth of that generation. Systems limited to PCIe 1.0 or 2.0 will not gain additional speed, and the four ports share the same upstream link.
The integrated Intel 82580 controller handles all four ports on one chip, reducing power draw and board space compared to multi-chip designs. Buyers needing more than four ports or 10GbE speeds must select a different adapter.

The I340-F4 provides four LC connectors on a single card, so one slot handles four 1000Mbps links instead of occupying two slots with dual-port cards.
Each of the four ports runs at full gigabit line rate simultaneously, backed by the integrated 82580 controller that supports multi-core scaling and virtualization workloads.
The card uses a PCIe 2.0 x4 link, which supplies enough bandwidth for four concurrent 1000Mbps ports without bottlenecking.
