What this barebone delivers

The Intel NUC14RVKU5 is a slim mini-PC barebone built around a Core Ultra 5 125H processor with 14 cores, 18 threads and an integrated Arc GPU. It ships without memory or storage, supports up to 96GB of DDR5 5600 in dual-channel SO-DIMM slots, and includes an NPU for AI-enhanced video conferencing. It targets builders who want a compact, VESA-mountable system for productivity, home-theatre or light creative work.

Check your parts before ordering

You must supply two DDR5 5600 SO-DIMM modules, each up to 48GB, to reach the 96GB maximum. Storage requires one M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe drive and optionally one M.2 2242 PCIe x4 NVMe drive. The 120W 19V adapter is included and accepts 12V-20V DC input, so verify your mains cable matches the supplied US plug. No operating system is pre-installed; Windows 11 or a compatible Linux distribution must be added.

Build integration and expansion

Two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports and two HDMI 2.1 TMDS ports drive up to four displays. Rear I/O adds one USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C at 20Gbps, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, a Kensington lock slot and a 2.5GbE Intel i226-LM LAN port. Wireless uses Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 with Bluetooth 5.3. The 117 x 112 x 37 mm chassis mounts via the included VESA hardware, leaving desk space free for peripherals.

Questions about this item

Does the NUC14RVKU5 come with RAM or an SSD, or do I need to buy them separately?

The barebone unit ships without memory or storage. You must add two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMMs (up to 48 GB each) and at least one M.2 NVMe drive — either 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 or 2242 PCIe x4.

Should I populate one or both SO-DIMM slots to reach the 96 GB maximum?

The board has two slots and supports dual-channel operation. Install a matched pair of 48 GB modules to hit the 96 GB limit; a single module will run in single-channel mode and cap at 48 GB.

What does the Core Ultra 5 125H's 4.50 GHz boost clock mean for everyday workloads?

The 14-core, 18-thread processor can hit 4.50 GHz on demanding threads, while the integrated Arc graphics at 2.2 GHz and the on-die NPU accelerate AI-enhanced video calls and light creative tasks without a discrete GPU.
