Intel X550-T2 10Gb dual-port adapter

This Intel X550-T2 network card adds two 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports to a server or workstation. It connects through a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and is designed for high-throughput wired networking in data-centre or enterprise environments.

Check your host slot and cabling

Verify that the system has a free PCIe 3.0 x16 slot with enough physical clearance for a plug-in card. Ensure you have Cat6a or better twisted-pair cabling rated for 10 Gb/s over the required distance, and that the operating system includes or can load the appropriate Intel driver.

Suits servers needing twin 10 GbE links

Ideal for administrators upgrading rack-mount or tower servers to dual 10 GbE connectivity without moving to SFP+ optics. Not suited for desktop PCs lacking a full-length x16 slot, for laptops, or for builds that require fibre interfaces or single-port 10 GbE only.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel X550-T2 card come with any cables or mounting brackets?

The card is a plug-in PCIe 3.0 x16 adapter with two RJ45 ports; Ethernet cables and any low-profile brackets are not included.

Should I choose a single-port or dual-port 10GbE card for my server?

The X550-T2 provides two 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports on one bracket, giving two independent 10 Gb links from a single x16 slot.

What throughput will I see from the two 10G ports on a PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface?

Each port supports 10 Gb/s line rate, and the x16 host link supplies ample bandwidth so both ports can run at full duplex simultaneously.
