Adds 48 V DC PoE power up to 15.4 W over Cat5 cabling to a single 100 Mbps device
The Intellinet 524179 adds IEEE 802.3af power to one Ethernet link, delivering 48 V DC at up to 15.4 W over existing Cat5 cabling. It targets installers who need to power a wireless access point, IP phone or network camera where no AC outlet exists.
The injector maintains full Class 3 power without throttling while the connected device draws up to 15.4 W. It passes both data and DC power through the same RJ-45 connection, so sustained camera streams or VoIP calls do not reduce available wattage.
One port connects to the non-PoE switch, the other to the powered device; no configuration or software is required. The unit assumes the switch already supplies 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, so Gigabit-only links will not work. Buyers who need multi-port injection or 802.3at power levels cannot use this model.

The injector delivers up to 15.4 W at 48 V DC to the powered device; its own heat output is low because it has no fan and only passes the power the connected device requests.
You need a standard Cat5 UTP or STP cable with RJ-45 plugs and a free 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port on your LAN switch for the data input side.
Yes — the injector complies with IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u, so it passes 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps traffic through the same Cat5 cable while adding 48 V DC power for the end device.
