Adds a single 2.5 Gbps RJ45 port via an M.2 M+B key slot using the Intel I225 controller
This IOCrest card adds a 2.5 Gigabit RJ45 port to any system with an M.2 M+B key slot. It uses the Intel I225 controller to deliver multi-gigabit wired networking over standard copper cabling. The compact M.2 form factor suits space-constrained desktops, workstations and industrial boards. It is a new, single-port adapter for wired Ethernet only.
Ideal for users who want faster-than-Gigabit LAN on a motherboard or embedded board that lacks a 2.5G port but exposes an M.2 M+B key slot. Not for buyers who need multiple ports, fibre connectivity, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Not for systems without an M.2 M+B key interface or those requiring 10 Gigabit speeds. Driver support depends on the host operating system.
Comfortably manages 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-TE connections with 9.5 KB Jumbo Frames and 40 KB packet buffers. TCP segmentation offload up to 256 KB and IPv4/IPv6 checksum offload reduce CPU load. Runs out of headroom when aggregate throughput exceeds the single 2.5Gbps PHY or when more than one physical port is required.

Yes, the card uses an M.2 M+B key edge connector so the slot must support that dual-key layout.
The controller supports 2500BASE-T, 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-TE, so it will auto-negotiate to 1Gbps or 100Mbps on older gear.
Check the link speed reported by the OS network status or the driver control panel; it should show 2.5Gbps when connected to a 2.5G-capable switch with adequate cabling.
