Dual-view KVM for two computers

The IOGEAR GCS1742 lets a single dual-monitor console control two dual-display computers. It combines USB keyboard and mouse switching with VGA video, stereo audio and microphone paths. Two SPHD-15 cable sets connect each system and a front-panel push button or hot-key sequence selects the active PC.

VGA resolution and peripheral limits

Video output tops out at 2048 x 1536 across both monitor ports. The switch passes analog VGA only, so digital-only sources require an active converter not supplied. USB peripheral sharing is limited to the two Type-A ports on the console side and the unit draws 1.25 W from its 5 V adapter.

Replaces two separate KVMs or manual cable swaps

Consolidating dual-head setups into one box saves desk space and eliminates the need to reach behind machines. The jump is worthwhile when you run two computers with dual VGA monitors and want shared USB devices and audio without software drivers.
