Share one USB 2.0 printer or device across four computers with automatic switching and push-button control, powered directly from the USB bus
The IOGEAR GUB431 lets four computers share a single USB 2.0 printer, scanner or external drive. It is aimed at home offices or small teams that need to eliminate cable swapping between Windows and Mac systems. The unit draws power from the host USB bus, so no external adapter is required.
A print job sent from any connected PC or Mac triggers an immediate switch to that computer without user intervention. Front-panel buttons also allow manual switching when a specific device must be selected. Green and orange LEDs show which port is online or locked at a glance.
The switch consumes 2.5 W at 5 V DC while idle or actively routing data, staying well within standard USB bus-power limits. Because it requires no driver installation, it adds no software overhead during sustained multi-computer use.

Yes. The switch passes USB 2.0 signals directly, so print, scan and fax data move at the same rate as a direct cable connection.
The bus-powered 2.0 connection works for printers, scanners and external hard drives, but bandwidth-heavy devices such as video capture or high-speed SSD arrays will run slower than on a native 3.0 port.
It draws 2.5 W from the host USB port, so no external adapter is required; just plug the four upstream cables and one downstream device cable into the unit.
