8MP USB document camera for presenters
The IPEVO V4K captures live images at up to 3264 x 2448 pixels using an 8 megapixel Sony CMOS sensor. It streams at 30 fps in full HD or 15 fps at maximum resolution. The multi-jointed stand folds for transport and the built-in microphone records audio during sessions. It suits educators, remote teachers and live demonstrators who need detailed close-ups of physical materials.
Check USB power and OS requirements before ordering
The camera draws power from a single USB connection and requires a free port on the host device. Supported systems are Mac OS X 10.10 or later, Windows 10 and Chromebook. For lag-free 1920 x 1080 streaming the supplier lists an Intel Core i5 at 2.5 GHz on Mac or 3.40 GHz on Windows, 4 GB RAM, 200 MB free disk space and 256 MB dedicated video memory. Buyers without a compatible USB port or whose machines fall below these specifications will not get the intended performance.
Free Visualizer software adds capture
The hardware works as a standard UVC device in any application that recognises a webcam. Installing the optional IPEVO Visualizer software unlocks functions such as image flip, rotation, exposure and focus controls, plus recording and snapshot features. The CamControl add-on provides further on-screen adjustments. Users who rely only on generic video-conference apps will not have access to these extra controls.
