Hardware-encrypted 256 GB USB 3.2 flash drive with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 pending certification, MIL-STD-810F and IP68 rugged zinc casing, and SafeConsole managed deployment
The IronKey Sentry 5 is a hardware-encrypted USB flash drive built for organisations that must protect sensitive data. It uses AES 256-bit XTS mode encryption inside a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 pending validated module. The zinc metal casing is encapsulated in tamper-resistant epoxy and meets MIL-STD-810F and IP68 ruggedness standards. It is TAA-compliant and sourced from a NATO-trusted supply chain.
The drive provides 256GB of protected storage for documents, backups and portable applications. USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A connectivity delivers broad host compatibility across desktops, laptops and approved peripherals. Capacity limits the volume of large media libraries or full-disk images that can be carried simultaneously. Performance scales with the host controller and the encryption engine's throughput ceiling.
Centralised administration is handled through the SafeConsole platform, which requires a separate device-management licence. With a licence, administrators can enforce password policies, audit access logs and remotely wipe lost drives. Zero-touch deployment services are available to accelerate large-scale roll-outs. Without the licence the drive operates in standalone mode with mandatory password protection only.

Yes, the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports, though transfer speeds will fall to the older standard.
The drive enforces mandatory password entry before any data is visible; successful unlock means the AES 256-bit XTS hardware encryption is operating as designed.
The SafeConsole Device Management licence is sold separately; the box contains only the encrypted flash drive itself.
