Two-metre braided USB-C cable pair

This pack contains two 72-inch USB-C to USB-C cables with a nylon braided jacket and aluminium connector housings. Each cable supports up to 100W power delivery at 5A and data transfer up to 1Gbps. The blue and purple colour coding helps distinguish the pair in a bag or on a desk. They are intended for phones, tablets and laptops that charge or sync over a USB-C port.

Extra length and two-colour pack

The 6ft reach lets users plug into wall outlets or power banks that sit farther from the work surface without stretching the cable. Having two cables in contrasting colours means one can stay at a desk while the other travels, or family members can identify their own cable at a glance. The braided sheath resists tangling and the reinforced strain relief is rated for over 10,000 bend cycles.

USB 2.0 data ceiling and Power Delivery dependency

Although the connector is USB-C, the specification lists a maximum data rate of 1Gbps, which corresponds to USB 2.0 signalling rather than the faster USB 3.x or USB4 lanes. Full 100W charging only occurs when both the charger and the device negotiate Power Delivery at 20V/5A; otherwise the cable falls back to lower voltages such as 5V. Cables longer than this length would require active circuitry to maintain the same power rating.

Questions about this item

How long before the braided nylon jacket or aluminum connectors on the 72in USB-C cable show wear from daily bending?

The cable is tested to withstand more than 10,000 bend cycles, so the braided jacket and aluminum housings should resist fraying or connector loosening for a long period of regular use.

What limits the 100W charging speed when the cable runs at full load for an extended session?

The 5A current rating and 20V voltage support define the maximum power delivery; if the connected charger or device cannot sustain 5A at 20V, the actual power will be lower than 100W.

Does the 6ft braided cable get noticeably warm or draw extra power when charging a MacBook Pro 16 at 100W all day?

The cable supports up to 100W at 5A and 20V with aluminum alloy connectors designed for efficient conductivity, so heat buildup and power loss remain minimal during sustained high-power charging.
