The Island Escape CP920 is a VoIP conference phone built for small meeting rooms and huddle spaces. It carries three internal microphones that capture voices from every seat without extra hardware. The 31 inch graphical display shows call status and directory entries at a glance. Power arrives through 8023af PoE so no separate mains adapter is required.

Pickup stops at twenty feet

The microphone array reaches twenty feet in a quiet room, so participants beyond that distance will not be heard clearly. Background noise from HVAC or open windows reduces the effective range further. The 80211n Wi-Fi link handles voice traffic only; it is not suited for large file transfers or video streaming. Wired Ethernet remains the most reliable path for uninterrupted calls.

PoE removes the need for a wall socket

Connect the single Ethernet cable to a PoE switch and the unit powers up instantly — no electrician, no power brick, no configuration. If the switch does not supply 8023af, the phone will not start and the display stays dark. A common mistake is plugging the cable into a non-PoE port and assuming the device is faulty. Verify PoE availability before mounting.
