3.5" Hot-swap Rack for 5.25" Bays

This trayless rack mounts a single 3.5" drive into a standard 5.25" bay, supporting SAS and SATA interfaces up to 12Gb/s. It is built for server administrators who need quick drive removal without tools or caddies. The all-aluminium construction keeps weight low while providing structural rigidity.

14 TB Capacity Headroom at 12Gb/s

Drives up to 14 TB are compatible, giving ample space for archival or active datasets before a second bay is required. The 12Gb/s ceiling matches current SAS III and SATA III speeds, so the rack does not bottleneck modern mechanical drives. Workloads demanding multiple concurrent streams will need additional bays.

Aluminium Frame with Key Lock and LEDs

The front bezel, handle and chassis are aluminium, coloured blue and black respectively, measuring 1.65 x 5.75 x 7.10 inches. A metal key lock secures the drive, while blue and purple LEDs show power and access status at a glance. Tray-less, screw-less mounting means swaps take seconds, not minutes.

Questions about this item

Will my existing 3.5" SAS II or SATA II drives work in this 12Gb/s hot-swap rack?

Yes, the rack supports 3.5" SAS I/II/III and SATA I/II/III drives, so older generations will operate at their native speeds.

How do I confirm the rack is functioning correctly once installed?

The front LEDs show blue for power on and purple for HDD access, giving immediate visual status of power and drive activity.

Does the package include mounting screws or drive trays for installation?

The tray-less, screw-less design secures 3.5" drives directly without extra trays or screws; only the rack itself is included.
