  • 3 hot-swap 3.5" bays for quick drive changes

  • Single 80mm fan provides active cooling
  • Compact 230mm depth saves cabinet space

Compact 2U Server Chassis

The iStarUSA D-230HB-T is a 2U rackmount server chassis built for compact deployments. It combines a black aluminium and steel frame with a shallow 15-inch depth. Three 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bays provide accessible storage in a space-saving design. A single 80mm fan supplies active airflow through the enclosure.

Storage-Focused Builders

This chassis suits administrators who need front-accessible 3.5-inch drives in a 2U form factor with limited rack depth. The three hot-swap bays support quick drive changes without tools or system shutdown. Builders requiring more than three drive positions or larger motherboard support should evaluate alternative chassis options.

Three Hot-Swap Drive Bays

The defining specification is the trio of 3.5-inch hot-swap bays that dictate storage capacity and serviceability. Each bay accepts standard 3.5-inch hard drives or SSDs using the integrated black handles. This bay count determines whether the chassis meets the project's density requirements.

Questions about this item

Will the single 80 mm fan keep the three 3.5" drives cool under sustained load?

The chassis relies on one 80 mm fan for airflow; adding a second fan or using drives with lower heat output helps during all-day operation.

How much power does the 230 W supply leave for drives and motherboard after the fan spins up?

The 230 W unit powers the 80 mm fan and all installed components; budget drive and board draw against that total.

Which motherboard form factor fits the 2U rackmount frame?

The 2U rackmount frame accepts micro-ATX or smaller boards; full-size ATX will not fit.
