Vibration Isolation Gaskets

The iStarUSA DIY-RSS80 is a set of silicon-gel gaskets designed to dampen vibration from 80 mm components in server chassis. System integrators and DIY builders use them to reduce noise and mechanical stress on mounted hardware.

80 mm Square Footprint

Each gasket measures 80 mm by 80 mm, matching the standard mounting pattern for 80 mm fans or drives. The silicon-gel material is RoHS compliant and remains flexible across typical operating temperatures.

Mounting Between Hardware and Chassis

The gaskets sit between the component frame and the mounting surface, absorbing vibration without adding rigid spacers. They free the build from metal-on-metal resonance and require no tools beyond the standard screws used for the 80 mm device.

Questions about this item

How much vibration does an 80mm silicon-gel gasket actually reduce once installed?

The silicon-gel material damps fan and drive vibration at the mounting points, lowering transmitted noise and resonance in the chassis.

Does the RoHS compliance limit any chemical content in the gel?

RoHS compliance means the gel contains no restricted hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium or certain phthalates.

Will the 80mm square footprint line up with standard 80mm fan or drive mounting holes?

The 80mm by 80mm dimensions match common 80mm fan and drive mounting patterns for direct screw-through installation.
