iStarUSA Inc. Refurbished
One-metre passive eSATA to SATA cable supports 6 Gb/s transfer with pull-type latch connectors
This refurbished iStarUSA cable connects an eSATA port to a SATA device over a one-metre passive link. It uses male 7-pin connectors on both ends and supports the 6 Gb/s transfer rate. The pull-type latch secures the connection without a directional requirement. It is built for server and storage configurations that need an external SATA link.
The one-metre length suits rack-to-drive or enclosure-to-host runs where a standard half-metre cable falls short. Upgrade when the existing cable limits drive placement or shows connector wear. The passive design means no power adapter is needed, so the swap is a direct plug-in with no extra cabling.
The cable carries full 6 Gb/s bandwidth for single-drive external arrays, backup targets or JBOD expansions. It runs out when the link distance exceeds one metre or when the host port cannot supply the signal level required for passive operation at that speed. Multi-drive enclosures needing longer runs will need an active or powered alternative.

The pull-type latch requires enough rear clearance to grip and squeeze the release tab while pulling the connector straight out; allow roughly 20 mm behind the port.
Align the L-shaped key on the male eSATA plug with the port notch, push straight in until the latch clicks, and do not force it at an angle.
Replace the cable if the latch no longer clicks securely, if the plug wiggles in the port, or if intermittent link errors appear during heavy I/O.
