135W replacement adapter for Legion Y520

This 135W AC adapter replaces Lenovo 90W and 135W chargers for Legion Y520 and Y520-15IKBM models. It supplies 20V at 6.75A to power the laptop and charge the battery whether the system is on or off. The unit accepts 100 to 240V input for worldwide use.

Thermals and power draw in normal use

The ruggedised case is sealed against moisture and high humidity while maintaining high power efficiency for consistent output. Internal safety circuitry filters input voltage spikes and limits output voltage or current to protect the laptop. A UL listed 3-prong AC cord is included.

Behaviour under sustained load

The adapter delivers a continuous 135W maximum without derating during extended sessions. It does not replace 170W or 230W Lenovo adapters, so buyers needing higher wattage for larger Legion models must look elsewhere. Extra long 6 ft AC and DC cords provide reach without extension leads.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 20V 6.75A adapter to my Lenovo Legion Y520, and which step is often missed?

Plug the 3-prong AC cord into a 100-240V outlet, then insert the slim 20V DC tip firmly into the laptop's charging port until it clicks; the missed step is verifying the tip seats fully so the 135W charge engages.

What part of this 135W adapter will need replacement first, and how can I tell?

The 6 ft DC cord and slim tip endure the most flexing; replace them if you see exposed wires, intermittent charging, or the tip no longer holds securely in the Y520 port.

What thermal or power limit appears first when this 135W adapter runs continuously at full load?

The 135W ceiling is the hard limit; sustained 20V 6.75A output will hit that cap before any thermal throttle, so the adapter simply cannot exceed 135W regardless of demand.
