Matching charger for MSI GP72 Leopard Pro

This 150W AC adapter supplies 19.5V at 7.7A for the MSI GP72 Leopard Pro series including the 402, 677, 1213, 1214, 281 and 284 model numbers. It is a new replacement unit built for laptops that originally shipped with a 150W or 120W power supply.

5.5 mm plug tip without a centre pin

The connector uses a 5.5 mm diameter barrel that has no centre pin inside, so it fits only models designed for that exact tip geometry. Buyers whose laptops require a pin-type connector or a different barrel size cannot use this adapter.

Extra-long cords and worldwide input

A 6 ft UL-listed 3-prong AC cord and a 6 ft DC cord are included, giving plenty of reach from a wall outlet to the desk. The adapter accepts 100 to 240V at 50 to 60Hz, so it works on mains power in any region without a voltage converter.

Questions about this item

How does the 150 W output actually behave when the laptop is under heavy load?

The adapter delivers up to 150 W at 19.5 V and 7.7 A, so the GP72 Leopard Pro can draw full power for CPU and GPU intensive tasks without throttling due to an undersized charger.

What does the 5.5 mm barrel connector without a centre pin mean for compatibility?

The tip fits the MSI GP72 series DC jack that expects a 5.5 mm outer diameter and no centre pin; it will not seat in models that require a centre-pin or a different barrel size.

What clearance is needed for the 6 ft AC cord and 6 ft DC cord when routing behind a desk?

Each cord is 6 ft long, giving a combined reach of 12 ft from wall outlet to laptop, so plan at least that much slack for neat cable management.
