170W AC adapter for ThinkPad P15

This 170W AC adapter is built for Lenovo ThinkPad P15 mobile workstations. It delivers 20V at 8.5A to power the system and charge the internal lithium-ion battery whether the laptop is on or off. The unit ships new with a ruggedised case designed for mobile environments.

Replaces 135W and 170W Lenovo chargers

The adapter replaces original Lenovo 135W and 170W power supplies for the listed P15 part numbers. It does not replace 230W or 300W Lenovo chargers, so buyers needing higher wattage for other models should look elsewhere. The jump is worth it when your original 135W or 170W brick is lost, damaged or no longer holds a charge.

6ft cords and worldwide input

A 6ft UL-listed 3-prong AC cord and a 6ft DC cord give extra reach without extension leads. The adapter accepts 100–240V at 50–60Hz for worldwide use. Internal safety circuitry filters voltage spikes and limits output to protect the laptop from electrical hazards.

Questions about this item

Does the 6.18" x 3.31" x 1.97" brick fit in a standard laptop bag sleeve?

The adapter measures 6.18 by 3.31 by 1.97 inches and weighs 26.5 ounces, so it fits most 15-inch laptop bag compartments but check your sleeve depth before buying.

How do I connect the 6 ft AC cord and 6 ft DC cord correctly, and what step do people miss?

Plug the 3-prong AC cord into the wall, join it to the brick, then insert the DC tip into the ThinkPad P15; the step often missed is seating the DC connector fully until it clicks.

When should I replace the 6 ft 3-prong AC cord or the DC cable on this 170W unit?

Replace either cord if the insulation cracks, the plug pins bend, or the DC tip becomes loose in the laptop port; the UL-listed AC cord and DC lead are both rated for long-term use.
