Connector and Voltage Check

Verify that your laptop uses a 7.4mm diameter barrel tip with an internal centre pin before ordering. Confirm the device requires 19.5V output at 9.23A and that your original charger is rated 180W or lower. This adapter will not work with models that require the 230W power brick or a different plug geometry.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The adapter delivers a continuous 180W maximum through high-efficiency circuitry that maintains stable voltage during extended charging and heavy workloads. Internal protection filters input surges and limits output current to safeguard components. A ruggedised case resists moisture and humidity for reliable operation in demanding mobile environments.

Questions about this item

Does the box include both the AC wall cord and the DC laptop cable, or must either be purchased separately?

The package supplies a 6 ft 3-prong AC power cord and a 6 ft DC power cord, so both cables are included and nothing extra is required.

My original MSI charger is rated 150 W — will this 180 W unit with the 7.4 mm centre-pin tip work as a direct replacement?

Yes, the adapter replaces MSI 135 W, 150 W and 180 W models that use the 7.4 mm centre-pin connector; it does not replace the 230 W version.

The spec lists 19.5 V at 9.23 A — what does that mean for everyday charging on a supported MSI laptop?

It delivers up to 180 W continuously, powering the laptop and charging the battery whether the system is on or off.
