Compatible 230W adapter for MSI GE63VR and GE72MVR

This 19.5V 11.8A AC adapter replaces the original 150W 180W and 230W chargers supplied with MSI GE63VR Raider 228 Raider 4K 212 GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro 001 008 062 080 models. It delivers 230W output through a 7.4mm barrel connector with centre pin. The unit is new and intended for owners of those specific laptops who need a direct replacement power supply.

Simple plug connection with 6ft cords on both sides

Installation is a direct swap: connect the 6ft UL listed 3 prong AC cord to the wall outlet and the 6ft DC cord to the laptop. The ruggedised case is sealed against moisture and humidity. The only common issue is attempting to use this adapter on machines that require the 280W 300W or 330W brick — it will not provide enough power for those systems.

Fixed 19.5V 230W output limits use to matching

The adapter supplies a single 19.5VDC 11.8A rail rated at 230W and accepts 100 240V 50 60Hz mains input worldwide. It cannot charge laptops that draw more than 230W or that use a different voltage or connector size. Buyers needing 280W 300W or 330W adapters or a different tip diameter must choose another model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 230W adapter is delivering 19.5V at 11.8A after plugging it in?

The laptop should power on and charge the battery whether it is on or off; the ruggedized case and internal safety features filter voltage spikes and limit output to protect the system.

What cables come in the box and is a separate AC cord needed?

The package includes a 6 ft UL listed 3-prong AC power cord and a 6 ft DC power cord, so no extra cord is required.

Which MSI models does this 7.4 mm center-pin 230W adapter replace, and which wattages does it not cover?

It replaces 150W, 180W and 230W chargers for GE63VR Raider-228, GE63VR Raider 4K-212, GE72MVR, GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro, GE72MVR 7RG-008, GE72MVR Apache Pro-001 and GE72MVR Apache PRO-062 PRO-080, but not 280W, 300W or 330W adapters.
