Questions about this item

Does the package include both the AC power cord and the DC cable, or must either be purchased separately?

The adapter ships with a 6 ft UL-listed 3-prong AC power cord and a 6 ft DC power cord already attached, so no extra cables are required.

My ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 originally came with a 170 W charger — will this 230 W unit work safely?

Yes, the adapter is designed to replace both 170 W and 230 W Lenovo chargers; it will not replace 280 W, 300 W, 330 W or 400 W models.

The spec lists 20 V at 11.5 A — does that mean the laptop will always draw 230 W?

The 230 W rating is the maximum the adapter can deliver; the laptop only draws the power it needs at any moment, up to that limit.
