Replacement AC Adapter for ThinkPad P72

This 230W AC adapter replaces the original Lenovo charger for ThinkPad P72 models including 20MB001JUS through 20MB001XUS. It supplies 20V at 11.5A and fits the slim plug tip shown in the product images. The unit is new and built with a durable case that resists water and humidity.

Continuous 230W Delivery with Safety Protections

The adapter maintains its full 230W output under sustained load rather than only in short bursts. Built-in overload, short-circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protections keep the power delivery stable during extended work sessions. High power efficiency reduces heat buildup inside the sealed enclosure.

Limited to 230W Maximum — Not a 280W

This unit replaces Lenovo 170W and 230W adapters but cannot replace 280W, 300W, 330W or 400W models. The 6 ft UL-listed AC cord and 6 ft DC cord give 12 ft total reach without extension leads. Buyers whose systems require more than 230W need a higher-rated power supply.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 230W adapter produce when running all day?

The 20V 11.5A output delivers 230W efficiently, so the case stays warm rather than hot during continuous use.

What must I already own for this charger to work with my ThinkPad P72?

You need a P72 model such as 20MB001JUS through 20MB001XUS that originally shipped with a 170W or 230W Lenovo charger.

Will this 230W unit run safely alongside the 170W Lenovo brick I keep as a spare?

Yes, it replaces the 170W and 230W Lenovo adapters, but it does not replace 280W, 300W, 330W or 400W units.
