Compatible MSI Alpha and GE62MVR models

This 230 W AC adapter fits MSI Alpha 15 A4DEK, Alpha 15 A4DEK-004, Alpha 15 A4DEK-005, Alpha 17 A4DEK, Alpha 17 A4DEK-006, Alpha 17 A4DEK-011, Alpha 17 A4DEK-021 and GE62MVR 7RG Apache Pro laptops. It replaces the original 150 W, 180 W and 230 W chargers supplied with those machines. The unit is new and ready for immediate use as a direct replacement.

7.4 mm barrel plug with centre pin

The connector uses a 7.4 mm outer diameter tip that includes a centre pin, matching the DC-in jack on the listed MSI models. Verify the port on your laptop against the product image before ordering, because the adapter does not fit devices that require the larger 280 W, 300 W or 330 W power bricks. Input voltage covers 100 to 240 V at 50 to 60 Hz for worldwide operation.

Sustained 230 W delivery with long cables

Output is rated at 19.5 V and 11.8 A for continuous 230 W performance under load. A six-foot UL-listed AC cord and a six-foot DC cord give ample reach without extension leads. Internal protection filters voltage spikes and limits output current, while the ruggedised case resists moisture and humidity during extended mobile use.

Questions about this item

What does the 230 W output actually deliver to the laptop?

It supplies 19.5 V at 11.8 A, giving the full 230 W the notebook draws under load while also charging the battery.

Which plug standard does the adapter use and what does it limit?

A 7.4 mm barrel tip with a centre pin fits the MSI Alpha 15, Alpha 17 and GE62MVR 7RG Apache Pro; it will not work with 280 W, 300 W or 330 W units.

What clearance and mounting space does the brick need?

The ruggedised case measures 6 ft on the AC cord and 6 ft on the DC cord, so the brick itself sits on the desk while the cables reach the outlet and the laptop.
