230W AC Adapter for MSI WT72 Series

This 230W AC adapter is built for MSI WT72 mobile workstations that require a 7.4 mm tip with a centre pin. It suits professionals who need a reliable replacement charger for models such as the WT72 6QJ, 6QK, 6QL, 6QM and 6QN sub-variants. The unit delivers 19.5V at 11.8A for consistent operation and battery charging.

Straightforward Installation with Tip Verification

Installation is simple: connect the 6 ft AC cord to a wall outlet, then attach the 6 ft DC cable to the laptop. The critical step is confirming the 7.4 mm plug with centre pin matches the original charger; an incorrect tip will prevent connection. The adapter replaces 150W, 180W and 230W MSI units but does not fit 280W, 300W or 330W requirements.

230W Capacity for Demanding Workloads

At 230W output the adapter comfortably powers high-performance WT72 configurations under full CPU and GPU load while charging the battery. It runs out of headroom on systems that demand 280W or more, so buyers with those higher-wattage models must seek a stronger unit. Worldwide 100-240V input ensures stable operation across regions.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the 230W adapter is delivering the correct 19.5V output after connecting it to my WT72?

The laptop charging indicator should illuminate and the battery icon must show charging while the system runs; consistent operation under load confirms the 19.5V 11.8A output is stable.

What cables are included with this 230W unit and is a separate AC cord required?

A 6 ft UL listed 3-prong AC power cord and a 6 ft DC output cable are both attached; nothing else needs to be purchased for standard mains connection.

My WT72 originally shipped with a 180W charger — will this 230W model with the 7.4 mm tip work as a direct replacement?

Yes, it replaces MSI 150W, 180W and 230W chargers for the listed WT72 models, but it does not replace 280W, 300W or 330W units.
