240W Adapter for MSI Crosshair Katana

This 240W AC adapter delivers 20V at 12A through a 4.5mm centre-pin connector. It is built for MSI Crosshair 16 HX, Crosshair A16 HX, Crosshair A18 HX and Katana 15 HX laptops that require a 240W, 230W, 200W or 180W charger. The unit includes a 6 ft UL-listed AC cord and a 6 ft DC cord for extended reach.

Suits Crosshair and Katana owners needing 240W

Buyers with MSI models that ship with a 280W, 300W or 330W adapter should look elsewhere because this unit cannot supply that power. It also does not fit laptops that use a different plug diameter or a connector without the centre pin.

4.5mm centre-pin plug decides compatibility

The adapter tip measures 4.5mm in diameter and carries a centre pin; only laptops with a matching jack will connect securely. Verify the port on your Crosshair or Katana unit against the supplied image before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does my MSI laptop need a 4.5 mm barrel connector with a centre pin to use this adapter?

Yes, the adapter uses a 4.5 mm diameter plug tip with a centre pin inside, matching the port on the listed Crosshair and Katana models.

Can this 240 W unit replace the 280 W, 300 W or 330 W charger that came with a higher-spec MSI laptop?

No, it replaces MSI 240 W, 230 W, 200 W and 180 W adapters only; it does not replace 280 W, 300 W or 330 W units.

The laptop charging indicator lights and the battery icon shows charging whether the system is on or off, confirming the 20 V 12 A output is active.
