This 65-watt DC auto adapter plugs into a 12-to-24-volt vehicle socket and delivers 19.5 volts at 3.34 amps. It replaces original HP 45-watt and 65-watt units for the models listed in the compatibility data. It is not suitable for laptops that require a 90-watt supply.

Build and Connectivity

The unit measures 4.33 by 1.69 by 1.18 inches and weighs 9.7 ounces, with a long power cord that extends reach inside the cabin. A smart LED indicator shows operating status, while built-in protection guards against short circuits and over-temperature conditions. Buyers needing an AC wall adapter for home or office use should look elsewhere.

Thermals and Power Draw

Protection circuitry limits heat build-up during continuous charging, keeping the adapter within safe thermal limits. The LED provides a quick visual check that power is flowing without audible noise. The charger draws from the vehicle's DC system only while connected, adding no parasitic drain when unplugged.
