65W Car Charger for HP EliteBook

This 65-watt USB-C car adapter powers compatible HP EliteBook laptops from a 12-24V vehicle outlet. It delivers variable voltage at 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V up to 4.5A, replacing original 45W, 65W and 90W chargers. The compact unit includes a long power cord for flexible placement inside the cabin. Built-in protections guard against short circuits and over-temperature conditions.

Compatible EliteBook models only

It suits owners of EliteBook 840 G9, 840 G10, 845 G7, 845 G10 and 860 G9 laptops that charge via USB-C up to 65W. Buyers whose laptops require 100W, 110W or 140W input should look at a higher-power solution, as this adapter does not replace those. Vehicles without a standard 12V accessory socket cannot use this charger.

65W output with 90W peak headroom

The charger comfortably handles the 65W requirement of the listed EliteBooks and provides up to 90W maximum for other USB-C devices such as tablets or phones. It runs out of headroom for any laptop demanding more than 90W, so larger workstation-class machines are not supported. The 4.33 x 1.69 x 1.18 inch form factor and 9.7 oz weight keep it unobtrusive in the vehicle.

Questions about this item

Does the 12–24 V input plug into a standard 12 V cigarette-lighter socket?

Yes, the adapter accepts DC 12–24 V input and is designed to connect to a vehicle's 12 V cigarette-lighter outlet.

Will the 65 W output run my EliteBook 840 G9 while I keep using a 90 W dock at my desk?

The charger replaces HP 45 W, 65 W and 90 W adapters, so it supplies the 65 W your EliteBook 840 G9 needs; it does not replace 100 W, 110 W or 140 W units.

How do I confirm the charger is delivering power after I plug it into the car?

Smart LED power indicators on the adapter light up to show it is active and supplying 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 20 V output.
