Universal 65 W USB-C charger

This 65 W USB-C AC adapter supplies adjustable voltage at 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V and 20 V up to 3.25 A, matching the power profile of compatible Acer Chromebook CP311, CP315 and CP511 models. It replaces the original charger for daily use at home, in the office or while travelling. The unit is new and built with a ruggedised case sealed against moisture and high humidity.

Power Delivery voltage steps

The adapter negotiates output in discrete steps of 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V and 20 V, so it cannot deliver intermediate voltages required by some non-PD devices. Input accepts 100 V to 240 V at 50 Hz to 60 Hz, covering global mains without a separate converter. The UL-listed 2-prong AC cord and 6 ft DC cable provide reach but the fixed 65 W ceiling limits charging speed on higher-power laptops.

65 W maximum output

The single specification that decides fit is the 65 W peak output combined with the 5 V to 20 V PD range; devices needing more than 65 W or a different voltage profile will not charge correctly. Buyers whose laptops demand higher wattage or a proprietary barrel connector must select a different adapter.

It delivers up to 65W by automatically selecting 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V at up to 3.25A, matching the laptop's own power requirement.

How does the USB Power Delivery negotiation cap the output in practice?

The charger negotiates with the device over USB-C and supplies only the voltage and current the Chromebook requests, never exceeding 65W total.
