Replacement 65 W USB-C adapter

This iTekiro adapter replaces Dell 65 W and 45 W chargers for Latitude 14 9450 and Precision 14 3490 models. It delivers up to 65 W through a USB Type-C connector with automatic voltage selection across 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V and 20 V at a maximum of 3.25 A. The unit ships with a 6 ft AC cord and a 6 ft DC cable.

USB Power Delivery voltage limits

The adapter negotiates power using the USB Power Delivery standard, so output voltage is restricted to the five fixed steps listed in the specifications. It cannot supply intermediate voltages or exceed 20 V, and the 3.25 A current ceiling caps total power at 65 W. Devices that require 90 W or proprietary barrel-pin signalling will not charge from this unit.

Upgrade from 45 W or barrel chargers

Buyers moving from a 45 W Dell charger gain the extra headroom needed for sustained loads on 14-inch and 16-inch Latitude or Precision systems. The switch is also worthwhile when replacing a worn barrel-style brick with a modern USB-C solution that works worldwide on 100–240 V mains. It does not suit users who need 90 W output or legacy barrel connectors.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 65 W adapter or a 90 W model for my Dell Precision 3490?

This 65 W adapter replaces Dell 65 W and 45 W chargers but does not replace a Dell 90 W charger; match the wattage your laptop originally shipped with.

What does the 65 W rating mean when I plug it into my Dell Latitude 9450?

The adapter delivers up to 65 W through USB-C Power Delivery, automatically selecting 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V or 20 V at up to 3.25 A to match the laptop's negotiated power profile.

Does the USB-C connection limit charging speed compared with a barrel plug on the same laptop?

No, the USB-C port carries the full 65 W Power Delivery output; the 6 ft DC cord and 6 ft AC cord give the same reach as a traditional barrel adapter.
