65W USB-C adapter for ThinkPad E490

This 65W USB-C AC adapter powers Lenovo ThinkPad E490 models including the 20N8 and 20N9 series. It delivers adjustable output from 5V to 20V at up to 3.25A using the Power Delivery specification. The unit replaces genuine Lenovo 45W and 65W chargers for compatible laptops.

Rugged case with dual 6 ft cords

A UL-listed 2-prong AC cord and a 6 ft DC cord give extended reach without extra extension leads. The ruggedised enclosure is sealed against moisture and high humidity for mobile use. Internal protection filters input spikes and limits output voltage and current to safeguard the laptop.

Replaces 45W and 65W Lenovo chargers

This adapter substitutes original Lenovo 45W and 65W USB-C power supplies for the listed ThinkPad models. Worldwide 100-240V input at 50-60Hz suits travel and office environments. The step up is worthwhile when the original charger is lost, damaged or a spare is needed for a second location.

Questions about this item

What USB Power Delivery voltages does the 65W adapter negotiate with a ThinkPad E490?

The adapter negotiates 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V with a maximum current of 3.25A, matching the ThinkPad E490's USB-C charging profile.

What is the total cable reach from wall outlet to laptop?

A 6 ft AC cord plus a 6 ft DC cord gives 12 ft of combined reach, so the charger sits on the floor while the laptop stays on the desk.

How do you connect the adapter so the ThinkPad E490 actually draws 65W?

Plug the AC cord into the brick, then the USB-C plug into the laptop's USB-C charging port; the brick auto-negotiates 20V at 3.25A without any driver install.
