Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Mobile professionals who need to run or charge a compatible Dell USB-C laptop while driving will find the adjustable voltage and compact design practical. Buyers whose Dell requires a 100 W, 110 W, 130 W or 140 W adapter cannot use this unit and must seek a higher-power alternative.

Key specification — 90 W maximum output

The single figure that decides fit is the 90 W maximum output. If the laptop’s original charger is rated 65 W or 90 W this adapter will work; if the original is rated 100 W or above it will not. Check the wattage printed on your Dell power brick before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does my laptop need a USB-C charging port to use this 90W car charger?

Yes, the adapter delivers power through a USB-C connector at 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V up to 4.5A, so the laptop must accept charging over USB-C.

Will this charger replace the 130W Dell adapter that came with my Precision 17?

No, the manufacturer highlights state it replaces Dell 65W and 90W adapters but does not replace 100W, 110W, 130W or 140W units.

How can I confirm the charger is supplying power once I plug it into the 12V cigarette lighter socket?

The unit has smart LED power indicators that light up when the adapter is receiving 12-24V DC input and delivering output to the connected device.
