Car charger for Acer laptops

This 65-watt auto adapter plugs into a 12-to-24-volt vehicle outlet and delivers 19 volts at up to 3.42 amps. It replaces genuine Acer 45-watt and 65-watt bricks for the part numbers listed by the supplier. The right-angle DC plug reduces strain on the laptop power jack.

Suits drivers who need laptop power on the road

Commuters, field technicians and travellers can run or charge compatible Acer notebooks from a cigarette-lighter socket. The unit includes short-circuit and over-temperature protection plus an LED indicator. Buyers who need an AC wall adapter or a higher-wattage supply for larger workstations should look elsewhere.

65-watt maximum output

The adapter peaks at 65 watts, matching the highest factory rating in the supported Acer range. If a notebook requires more than 65 watts this charger cannot meet that demand. Dimensions are 4.33 by 1.69 by 1.18 inches and weight is 9.7 ounces.

Questions about this item

Will the 90-degree DC plug clear the 4.33-inch adapter body in a tight console?

The right-angle connector bends at 90 degrees so the cable runs parallel to the laptop side, reducing strain on the power jack and fitting where a straight tip would hit surrounding trim.

What is the step people miss when plugging this into a 12-24V cigarette-lighter socket?

Push the barrel fully into the socket until the LED lights; a partial insert leaves the circuit open and the laptop will not charge.

How often should the 9.7 oz car charger be inspected or replaced?

Check the cord and right-angle tip for wear every few months; the built-in short-circuit and over-temperature protection has no user-serviceable parts, so replace the unit if the LED fails or the plug feels loose.
