USB-C 65W adapter for ThinkPad X1 Carbon

This 65 watt USB-C power adapter is designed for Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon models including the 20XW series. It serves as a direct replacement for genuine Lenovo 45W and 65W chargers, providing a reliable power source for daily office or mobile work. The unit ships new with a six foot AC cord and a six foot DC cord for flexible desk placement.

Variable voltage output covers 5V to 20V

The adapter delivers up to 65 watts across five fixed voltage steps: 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V. This range comfortably handles the X1 Carbon's standard charging and typical workloads such as document editing, video calls and light development. It will not support higher-wattage docking stations or power-hungry peripherals that exceed the 65W ceiling.

Built-in protections keep thermals and noise low

Overload, short-circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature safeguards maintain stable operation during normal use. The sealed, water-resistant case helps the unit run cool and silent on a desk or in a travel bag. Worldwide 100-240V input at 50-60Hz allows direct connection without a separate voltage converter.

Questions about this item

Will the 65W USB-C output charge my older ThinkPad that used a 45W rectangular-tip charger?

Yes, this adapter replaces genuine Lenovo 45W and 65W chargers and delivers 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V over USB-C, so it will power the older system at its required voltage.

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering the correct voltage after I plug it in?

The USB-C port negotiates 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V automatically; your ThinkPad's battery icon will show charging at the rated wattage when the handshake succeeds.

Does the package include both the AC cord and the USB-C cable, or must I buy a cable separately?

The box contains a 6 ft UL-listed 2-prong AC cord and a 6 ft DC cable with USB-C connector, so no extra cable is needed.
